About Daren Brown
J. Daren Brown is a founding partner of Stockard, Johnston, Brown, Netardus & Doyle, P.C. and one of the most experienced personal injury attorneys in Amarillo, Texas. He grew up in Borger, attending Borger High School before earning his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Texas Tech University in 1999 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law in 2002. After law school, Daren joined Sprouse Shrader Smith, P.C. — one of the Panhandle’s most established law firms — where he rose to partner before co-founding SJB in January 2012.
His personal injury practice has been built on a simple principle: prepare every case as if it is going to trial from day one. When a client hires him, he sends spoliation letters the same day — requiring preservation of dashcam footage, vehicle data, driver logs, and any evidence that could support the client’s claim before it disappears or is destroyed. He responds to clients in real time, including after hours. He has deposed DPS troopers, life care planners, economists, cross-examined accident reconstruction experts and bad drivers, and recovered seven-figure results for clients who had lost hope and thought they had no leverage. His cases have taken him to courts along US-67, US 87, I-27, and I-40, and across the state of Texas.
As a personal injury attorney in Amarillo, Texas, Daren is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates — an invitation-only organization whose membership criteria require demonstrated civil trial experience and a commitment to civility, integrity, and professionalism. He is also a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, an organization dedicated to protecting the rights of individuals in the Texas civil justice system. With multiple jury verdicts in favor of Plaintiffs and several seven-figure settlements, his experience speaks for itself.
I have spent years developing better ways to serve individual personal injury clients by effectively and efficiently gathering evidence at the earliest stages of the claim process to leverage my client’s position against insurance companies who do not want to pay their claim. I like to take each individual’s story and develop it throughout the case to not only humanize my client with the opposing party, but create a full picture of the damages that each client has incurred as a result of an incident that has changed their life.
