About Dusty Stockard
Dusty J. Stockard is a founding partner of Stockard, Johnston, Brown, Netardus & Doyle, P.C. and a native of the Amarillo area. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from West Texas A&M University in 1996 and his Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2000. Licensed in Texas since 2000 and in New Mexico since 2001, Dusty has spent his entire legal career practicing civil litigation in the community he grew up in.
His practice as an eminent domain attorney in Amarillo, Texas began with a focus on condemnation law — representing landowners whose property was being taken by government entities or utilities through the power of eminent domain. Over the years, his practice expanded to encompass oil and gas law, commercial litigation, estate litigation, insurance defense, and the full range of complex civil matters that arise in the Panhandle’s energy and business community. He has tried cases before juries throughout Texas and New Mexico, presented cases to special commissioners in eminent domain proceedings, and handled appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
On January 21, 2012, Dusty joined with Jarrett Johnston and Daren Brown to found Stockard, Johnston, Brown, Netardus & Doyle, P.C. — bringing together three attorneys with complementary practices and a shared commitment to building a full-service law firm rooted in the Texas Panhandle community. He has been selected to the Super Lawyers list, a recognition reserved for the top 5% of attorneys in Texas based on peer nomination and independent research.
